Back from a trip to the London Riviera

The sun is out in London, so what better way to enjoy my day off work on a hot Wednesday evening than at the London Riviera. The London Riviera is a pop up bar and kitchen situated by Tower Bridge, providing an array of entertainment from mixology masterclasses to lunchtime musical performances which is open from the 1st June – 31st October 2015, 8am – 10pm, seven days a week!!

The theme of the London Riviera is a mash up of Miami meets the French Riviera, with sun loungers, flourescent coloured deck chairs with seat pads for extra comfort and tables, as well as flamingos and crocodile props used as stands, for the main seating/dining area. Palm trees are positioned in different parts of the pop – up event area, which added to the beachy experience. (would have been even better if there was sand)

My friend and I joined the golden pineapple club for free, which you can access on their website linked at the bottom of the blog, providing you with exclusive offers and complimentaries. So when we got to the bar, we were given a free golden pineapple lapel/pin, which is a cute souvenir and a free cocktail, wasn’t too sure of the name of the cocktail but it was more a mocktail that tasted of tropical juice but it still tasted lovely and satisfied by tastebuds.

We got there at 7.10pm and most of the seats were taken up by business people that had finished work and were meeting up for after work drinks, so we did have a wait a short while for a free seat but it wasn’t too bad, as the event is held by Tower Bridge, so you are able to have a spectacular view of the bridge and the River Thames and all the other monumental buildings that are along the river, which was great to look out at during the sunset.

I would highly recommend visiting this pop up event if you are looking for something to do in the summer, taking a stroll along the River Thames, for after work drinks and nibbles or want a relaxing catch up with friends with scenic views.
