A tasty oaty treat

This recipe is for all those that want to make a simple, healthy, tasty snack that only consists of 4 ingredients and it is a different way of incorporating oats into your diet. I was watching insta stories on Instagram and I came across the story of a fitness influencer that I’m fond of called Scola.

Her Instagram name is @scoladondo. She posted a story of her preparing and baking these oat cookies, which was pretty straightforward and looked really tasty. She used raisins in her recipe, but I didn’t have any at home apart from some pitted dates so I used that instead.

So here is the recipe that I followed, I pretty much improvised a bit with the recipe but here is the list of ingredients and the method:

Ingredients

1 1/2 cup of oats

2 medium sized bananas

1 1/2 tsp of cinnamon

3 pitted dates (cut up into tiny pieces)

Method

1) Preheat the oven to gas mark 180 degrees Celsius (356 degrees Fahrenheit). Grease the baking tray with butter and then place the baking sheet on top. I also grease the baking paper with a bit of butter to ensure that the cookie mix doesn’t stick too much.

2) In a mixing bowl, cut up and mash with a fork, the bananas until mushy. Add the oats, cinnamon and the cut up pitted dates into the bowl and mix together until they have been combined well.

3) Pick up a handful of the mixture, form into a ball and then flatten the ball with the palm of your hands, until they are in a patty styled shape and then place onto the baking tray and shape with fingers to give it more of a circular shape. Continue the process with the rest of the mixture.

4) Put the baking tray into the oven and let it bake for about 10 minutes, when the cookies look dried out, that’s when you know that it has been baked.

5) Take out of the oven and leave to cool for about 5 minutes before plating it up. Then voila, it it done and you can finally enjoy it and gobble it down 😄

Thanks for reading, it would be great to see your results of the recipe in the comments section ☺️
